The Chilean salmon industry has created a $2.4 million fund to help workers and communities affected by theCoronavirus outbreak.
The main goal is to support those communities affected by the crisis, taking care of the health of employees, neighbors and communities.
"Covid 19 is a tough test that we must overcome together. We seek to generate direct actions for the communities in southern areas, as well as improving sanitary conditions to face this pandemic"
-Arturo Clement, president of salmon industry trade body SalmonChile.
At the moment, Chilean salmon processing plants are running at just over 50 percent of capacity as companies step up measures, including flexible shifts to try to prevent contagion between employees.Despite this measures, some of the workers have fallen ill.

We ask toRicardo Baeza Errazuriz, a foreign Chilean entrepreneur in United States, and he says that this is an effort we all have to face. Workers and small business must receive help so they can hold the situation and keep working and producing at their best. The whole market depends on their success.
